Our story
Apex Design & Refurbishment Ltd was founded to solve a problem practice owners kept describing: general contractors who could build, but who didn't understand what a veterinary building has to do. Rooms that looked good but didn't work. Programmes that ignored the reality of a clinic that can't simply shut for six weeks.
Today we design, refurbish, fit out and maintain veterinary premises across the whole of the UK. We work with independent practices, referral hospitals and multi-site veterinary groups, on projects ranging from a single consult room to complete new-build clinics and highly technical CT scanner suites.
How we work
One point of contact, drawings before decisions, a fixed programme and a site that stays clean. We coordinate directly with equipment suppliers, radiation protection advisers and building control so nothing is left to be resolved at handover. Where a practice must stay open, we phase the works and protect clinical areas properly.
The result is a building that supports clinical work rather than fighting it: durable hygienic surfaces, sensible service routes, good lighting and layouts drawn around the way your team actually moves through the day.

Ross, Founder, Apex Design & Refurbishment Ltd
Ross is the founder of Apex Design & Refurbishment Ltd, established in 2022 to provide dedicated construction and maintenance support to the veterinary industry. With 11 years of experience delivering projects for veterinary practices, he has managed everything from day to day maintenance to full scale refurbishments across clinical and non-clinical environments.
Starting his career as a project manager, Ross built his expertise coordinating all trades including building, electrical, gas, plumbing and carpentry to deliver high quality, compliant and fully finished spaces. Through Apex, he works with a dedicated maintenance portal that allows clients to log essential jobs quickly and efficiently, improving communication and response times across multiple veterinary groups.
Hard working and passionate about his craft, Ross thrives on solving complex design and layout challenges and takes pride in making his clients' day to day operations easier. His practical approach, sector knowledge and commitment to high standards have made him a trusted partner within the veterinary industry.
